Kasii helps users scan, identify, organise, and estimate the value of items they own or are interested in. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have.

1. Who we are

2. What data we collect
We collect only the data needed to provide the Kasii service.
Account data
When you create an account, we may collect:

If you sign in using Apple Sign In, Apple provides us with the account information you choose to share, such as your name and email address.
Guest user data
If you use Kasii as a guest, we may collect:
- Device identifier
- Country
We use this to maintain your guest session, provide app functionality, and help prevent misuse.
Uploaded images
When you scan or upload an image of an item, we collect and store that image as part of your Kasii portfolio.
Uploaded images are used to:
- Identify the item
- Generate item details
- Estimate value
- Display the item in your portfolio
- Help you manage your assets in the app
Because Kasii is a portfolio app, uploaded images are not only processed temporarily. They are retained so that your assets can be displayed and managed in the app.
Generated item data
Kasii may generate and store information about your items, including:
- Item name
- Category
- Description
- Estimated value
- Condition estimate
- Marketplace or price reference information
- Other item metadata generated from your image or description
This information is stored alongside your uploaded images as part of your portfolio.
Country
We may collect your country to help provide relevant marketplace information, localised value estimates, and regional app functionality.
3. How we use your data
We use your data to provide and improve the Kasii app. Specifically, we use your data to:
- Create and manage your account
- Authenticate you through Apple Sign In
- Maintain guest sessions
- Analyse uploaded item images
- Generate item descriptions, categories, and valuations
- Store and display your asset portfolio
- Provide marketplace-relevant information
- Prevent abuse, fraud, or misuse of the app
- Respond to support or privacy requests
- Maintain the security and reliability of the service
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.
4. Use of Apple Sign In
Kasii supports Apple Sign In for account creation and authentication.
When you use Apple Sign In, Apple may provide us with your name and email address, depending on the choices you make during sign-in. We use this information only to create and manage your Kasii account.
Apple's own processing of your data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
5. Use of OpenAI for image analysis
Kasii uses OpenAI to help analyse uploaded item images and generate item information, such as item identification, descriptions, categories, and estimated values.
When you upload an image for analysis, the image and related context may be sent to OpenAI for processing.
We use OpenAI only to provide Kasii's core functionality. We do not intentionally send your name or email address to OpenAI as part of image analysis, unless that information appears in an uploaded image or user-provided text.
You should avoid uploading images that contain unnecessary personal information, such as identity documents, addresses, financial documents, or images of people.
OpenAI processes data according to its own applicable data processing terms and security standards.
6. Legal basis for processing
If you are located in the UK, European Union, or European Economic Area, we rely on the following legal bases for processing your personal data.
Performance of a contract
We process your data where necessary to provide the Kasii service, including:
- Account creation
- Authentication
- Guest sessions
- Image analysis
- Portfolio storage
- Item valuation
- Displaying your assets in the app
Legitimate interests
We may process limited technical or account data where necessary for our legitimate interests, including:
- Preventing abuse
- Maintaining service security

7. How long we keep your data
We keep your data only for as long as necessary to provide Kasii or meet legal obligations.
Account data
We retain your name and email address while your account is active.
Uploaded images and portfolio data
Uploaded images, generated item data, valuations, and portfolio records are retained while your account or guest portfolio exists, because this information is needed to display and manage your assets in the app.
Account deletion
You can delete your account directly in the Kasii app using the in-app account deletion function. When you delete your account, we delete:
- Your account data
- Uploaded images
- Generated item data
- Valuations
- Portfolio records
- Associated personal data
We may retain limited information only where required for legal, security, or operational reasons.
8. Guest users
If you use Kasii as a guest, your portfolio may be linked to your device identifier rather than an account.
If you later create an account, your guest portfolio may be associated with that account.
If you delete the app without creating an account, we may no longer be able to identify or restore your guest portfolio.
9. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data.
We share data only where necessary to provide the service, operate the app, or comply with the law. We may share data with:
- Apple, for authentication through Apple Sign In
- OpenAI, for image analysis and generated item information
- Hosting and infrastructure providers, to store and operate the Kasii service
- Legal or regulatory authorities, if required by law
We require service providers to process personal data only for the purposes we specify and to apply appropriate security measures.
10. International data transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK, EU, or EEA. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent legal mechanisms.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
However, no digital service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe.

Kasii uses automated systems to generate item information and estimated values.
These outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or based on imperfect image analysis. They are provided for informational purposes only.
